The commune of Fonfuka is located in the plain north of the Boyo department in the Bum subdivision. The Kimbi River, the main tributary of the Katsina River in Nigeria, flows from the villages of Noni, passes through Kitchowi, Ngunakimbi, Fonfuka and Mbuk before joining Kimbi. The Kichimi and Mbuk rivers flow near Fonfuka.
